ABOUT US

Director of Sustain SA, Phil is currently Executive Leader Bioregional Australia Foundation, co-leader Adelaide Design Link, The Australian Living Lab Innovation Network,  and Green Cities Global. Phil has a Master in Environmental Management, Graduate Diploma in Outdoor Education, is a Green Star Accredited Professional, and One Planet Living Integrator and  delivers Sustain SA's events online platform, Future Planet State of Mind
(see Forum's tab).

 

Phil is member of:

  • Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) , 

  • Bioregional Australia Foundation 

  • Australian Institute  of Urban Studies  SA, (AIUSSA)

  • Trees for Life 

 

Phil is on the Board of Trees for life and Vice President and Previously on EBL Disability Services and Board Ministerial Advisory committee for community and sustainability for the  implementation of the new planning system in SA.

He has previously been Director of Sustainability in South Australia's Urban Renewal Authority, Sustainability Advisor  in the Sustainability and Climate Change  division of SA Government and Director of a Field Centre on the Murray River for 5 years and is experienced across  policy development, project management, behaviour and corporate change,  evaluation and assessment, team building   and outdoor pursuits.

Director of Sustain SA, Phil works collaboratively  to bring project teams together to explore opportunities. He led the development of the Adelaide Living Laboratory with the CRC for Low Carbon Living, been an assessor for new living labs  accredited under the European Network of Living Labs  (ENOLL) and presented on learning labs days in Europe's living lab conference.   

Phil has presented at the Low Carbon Earth Summit in Xian China , the Australia China week in Shanghai , the Global Sustainability and Technology  Innovation Conference  in Brussels and the Resilient Cities Austrade conference in Indonesia.

He was a leader of a successful group in the development of the Low Carbon Heritage Toolkit that became a finalist in the Adelaide  Zero Carbon Entrepreneurs Challenge and a member of  the Zero Carbon Apartment team which obtained a commendation.

He took  part in the Liveable Cities conference in Adelaide and co-chaired a master class session on One Planet Living and ran a Green Cities Global -  sustainable communities tour.
